প্রিয় তৌফিজা
কেমন আছো? অনেকদিন হলো আমাদের মাঝে যোগাযোগ নেই। মনে পড়ে কি আমার কথা? গত কিছুদিন ধরে তোমার কথা খুব মনে পড়ছে। চোখের সামনে পুরনো সব স্মৃতি ভেসে বেড়ায়। আচ্ছা তোমার কি মনে আছে আমাদের প্রথম দেখার কথা? যখন আমি গ্রামের স্কুলে ৪র্থ শ্রেণিতে পড়ি তখন ক্লাসের মধ্যে তুমি নতুন ভর্তি হয়ে আমার পাশের সিটে বসেছিলে। সেখান থেকে আমাদের পরিচয়। তারপর ধীরে ধীরে আমাদের বন্ধুত্ব আরো ভালো হতে লাগল। একটা সময় আসলো ক্লাসের সবচেয়ে কাছের বন্ধুটি হয়ে গেলে তুমি। কিন্তু ৫ম শ্রেণিতে থাকাকালীন হঠাৎ করে আব্বুর চাকরি স্থান পরিবর্তন হয়ে গেলে আমরা পুরো পরিবার ঢাকা শহরে চলে আসি। সব কিছু তাড়াতাড়ি হওয়ায় আর স্কুল গ্রীষ্মকালীন বন্ধ থাকায় আমি তোমার সাথে যোগাযোগ করে যেতে পারিনি। এবার বন্ধের ছুটিতে গ্রামে গিয়ে তোমার ঠিকানা সংগ্রহ করেছি। জানিনা তুমি এখনো আমায় মনে রেখেছ কিনা। কিন্তু তোমার সাথে কাটানো প্রতিটা স্মৃতি আমার খুবই মনে পড়ে। তোমার ছোট বোন রিয়া কেমন আছে? তাকে আমার আদরূ দিও। আর তোমার আব্বু আম্মুকে আমার সালাম দিও। তোমার বর্তমান পরিস্থিতি জানিয়ে আমাকে চিঠির উত্তর দিতে কিন্তু ভুলবেনা।

How are you? We haven't been in touch for a long time? Do you remember me? I have been missing you for the last few days. All the old memories float before the eyes. Well, do you remember our first meeting? When I was in the 4th standard in the village school, you sat next to me as a new admission in the class. From there we know. Then slowly our friendship started getting better. There comes a time when you become the closest friend in the class. But when I was in the 5th standard, my father's job suddenly changed and we all moved to Dhaka city. I couldn't contact you because everything was so rushed and school was closed for the summer. I went to the village during the holiday and collected your address. I don't know if you still remember me. But I miss every memory spent with you. How is your younger sister Riya? Give him my love. And give my greetings to your father and mother. Don't forget to reply to the letter informing me of your current situation.
